This is one of those happy accidents that you get now and again (all the more pleasing when its film and you don’t see the results for a few days).
This was shot on my Yashica Mat 124-G on Kodak Portra 160VC (my favourite film).
I intended to shoot the foreground flowers but the light levels were quite low so I opened up the camera to its maximum aperture and set the shutter to 1/60s.
I then balanced the camera on my foot as I wanted a low perspective too.
The framing and limited depth of field are pretty much what I wanted but it’s quite under-exposed. However, that has somehow given it this effect where the flowers seem to jump off the screen.
This is one of those I want to scan on a decent scanner one day and perhaps have a print made of it.
